Kurt and Natalie started their journey together as high school sweethearts. When the two started their family and their business, Kurt was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and Natalie had her Masters of Science in Psychology. The Core Gear Golf business venture was inspired during their cherished moments together on the golf course while escaping the rigors of everyday life. While Kurt’s love for the game of golf put the couple on the course, Natalie soon found enjoyment in learning the etiquette, the attire, and the rules of the game.
After many rounds of golf together wearing the proper golf course attire and minding the rules of etiquette, Natalie found herself constantly frustrated by the fact that she didn't have any place to put her golf tees while she played. Her desire to be prepared for the next hole and to be ready to tee off promptly, had her constantly fumbling for a place to put her tees. Her ponytail quickly became her go-to solution. While not ideal, it got the job done.
Watching PGA tournaments on television, Kurt and Natalie realized that she wasn't the only one with this issue--they noticed countless female PGA players were also resorting to their ponytails. Some tucked them into their shoelaces and others into their waistbands. One thing they knew for certain--this was a problem begging for a solution, and the idea for headwear golf tee pockets was born.
Kurt and Natalie made their first prototype by sewing a simple pocket into a visor. The solution worked so well and became such a hit amongst their golf friends and their family that they knew they were destined to bring it to market.
Before long, they filed for, and were granted a utility patent and they soon began producing hats and visors with their patented built-in golf tee holders. Core Gear Golf Headware can be seen on golf courses throughout the country and are enjoyed by avid golfers everywhere!
